Book Review - "What Love is This? Calvin's Misrepresentation of God" by dave Hunt

It seems that the last several months has engaged me in endless debates concerning the issue of Calvinism. This book is a simple and plain, but powerful, refutation of Calvinism by a sincere and honest Christian author whom I have met and respect.

The only criticism I would have of the book that it could use some improvement in the format. There seems to be a lot of repeated material and in some places the book does not flow very well. This is more a matter of style than substance.

Most of those involved in Calvinism do not understand the origin of the theory, nor the history of the proponents. When one learns that Augustine, THE doctor of the Roman catholic Church, was the teacher that Calvin formulated his theories from, it should cause him to think. When he learns of the bloodthirsty and heretical lives that were led by Luther, Calvin, and other Calvinists, he will be shocked. Hunt covers this well.

Hunt also does a credible job refuted the so called proofs of Calvinism. I have studied the doctrine in-depth, but Hunt cause me to think even harder about it, and makes many good points.

The best book you can get on this subject is "The Other Side of Calvinism" by Laurence Vance. Hunt quotes him widely. But this book is a good read also.

I would give it 4 Stars - 5 if the format was a bit cleaner.
